YOU BELONG HERE
Go beyond Sunday mornings and experience the life-changing power of faith in community. We have something for everyone. We’re all on a journey to become more like Jesus – loving God, loving people, building the Kingdom, and making an impact in every sphere of life.
If you're new to Evangel Temple or just wanting to learn more about us this is the place for you! In Starting Point we meet as a smaller group with just a few members from our team and we take time to hear your story as well as share what we feel God has called us to do in the Columbus area. We also give you some practical ways you can get connected through family ministries, Groups, and Serving. Starting Point is available one Sunday each month during the 11AM service. We cannot wait to connect with you at Starting Point!
Groups are the heartbeat of Evangel Temple. Connect with people, grow in your faith, and enjoy the care that happens in Christ-centered, authentic community. No matter what your interests, career goals, or stage in life, there is a Group that is a great fit for you. To find the group that's best fit for you, complete the sections below.
Making the decision to follow Jesus is single handedly the most important decision you will ever make. And we believe that from this point on you are never going to be the same. So where do you begin?? Take a moment to read the following scriptures in the Bible. If you have any questions at all about what you just read please contact Pastor Bud Rupel: 706.323.1876
Romans 3:23 // No one is perfect. We have all sinned. You are not alone.
Romans 5:8 // God loved us even when we were far from Him.
Romans 6:23 // God empowers us to live a life of freedom and to have eternal life.
Romans 10:9-13 // Jesus died to pay for our sins.
Romans 8:1 // There is no condemnation for those that give their life to Jesus.
Romans 8:38-39 // Nothing can separate us from the love of God.

Who Should Be Baptized
Christ Followers believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin; “I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me.” John 14:6. Therefore, salvation occurs only when a person places their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus as the total payment for their sin. If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then you are ready to be baptized.
What Baptism Symbolizes
Baptism is a way of showing others that you have entered into a personal relationship with Jesus. It is an outward expression of the inner miracle that occurred in your heart at the time of salvation:
+ You accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.
+ You shared in his death and resurrection, illustrated through baptism by going under the water (dying to your old life), then coming up out of the water again (experiencing a new life in Jesus).
+ You were symbolically washed clean, and your sins were forgiven by his death on the cross.
Because Jesus instructed us to be baptized, baptism is an act of obedience for anyone who has given their life to Him. We believe that baptism is an anchor point in our Journey of following Jesus and it signifies a new identity that is found in Him. And although baptism doesn’t make you a Christ Follower, it shows others what took place in your heart at the time of salvation. You should have just received a link that includes a few scriptures in the Bible that further explain baptism. And if you are ready to take this next step in your relationship with Jesus through water baptism, we want to celebrate with you! You can sign up through this link as well. I along with everyone here cannot wait to see all that God has in store for you as you continue to follow Him!
